Bloom Yoga Studio: The Wisdom of Mary Oliver, Half Day Retreat with Carrie Waller

A half-day retreat exploring the wisdom of Mary Oliver

The late poet Mary Oliver said, “Attention is the beginning of devotion,” and her poems invite us to pay attention to the wonders of nature and the world around us. As part of our “Conversations on Aging” offerings, this winter season come to Bloom for a staycation retreat and explore gentle movement, the musings of Mary Oliver, and conversations with your fellow Bloom yogis.
 

This half-day retreat, facilitated by Carrie Waller, starts with a gentle yoga practice followed by a listening session featuring a rare, recorded discussion with Mary Oliver and On Being’s Krista Tippett. Participants will stay toasty warm in restorative poses during the interview as Oliver shares her wisdom on spiritually, facing cancer, and aging. A group discussion follows, and the retreat closes with dinner and a final meditation. Come and be inspired by the devotional nature of Oliver’s poetry and enjoy the fellowship of your Bloom community.
 

Pizza and salad dinner will be delivered by Jimmy’s Pizza Cafe. Non-alcoholic beverages will be provided. Participants are welcome to bring other beverages to enjoy at dinner. Please, submit any dietary requests to info@bloomyogastudio.com at the time of registration.
