Every year, millions of people from all around the globe tune in to watch one of the longest-running television shows in the world: the European Song Contest. Since 1956, member countries of the European Broadcasting Union have sent their candidates to compete for the best performance. Each participating country submits an original song to be performed on live television and radio and then casts votes for the other countries' songs to determine the most popular song in the competition.
This year, the European Song Contest takes place in Kiev, following the Ukraine's victory at the 2016 contest.
42 countries will compete in the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest including Romania and Portugal who are returning to the competition after a year’s absence. The 2017 contest will be a special one for Austria, Denmark and the United Kingdom which are celebrating the 60th anniversary of participation.
DANK Haus is opening its doors for a viewing party and we will stream the contest live from Kiev. Channel the European in you and come to cheer for your favorite country and song!
