Nutrition for the Female Athlete

On Saturday, April 24th 2010 at 2:00 PM, Ravenswood Chiropractic and Wellness Center will present "Nutrition for the Female Athlete" workshop/lecture. This will be presented by Dr. Todd Renn, a Chiropractic Physician with extensive experience and training in science-based nutrition.

The main topics to be discussed are as follows: energy vs. nourishment, bone and muscle health, attitudes towards eating, injury prevention, meal planning during training, and supplementation needs. Dr. Renn will explain body composition, optimal diet requirements, including healthy proteins, fats, carbohydrates and hydration. He will describe what to eat before and after the big event/race day and hydration strategies during the event. He will present a case study of an athlete who was not performing at optimal level and how a good nutrition plan helped change that.

The public is invited to attend this event, which will last approximately an hour and a half, followed by a question and answer session. Space is limited and attendees are asked to R.S.V.P. by calling (773) 878-7330 or by registering below. This event is free.
