Stammtisch Open Haus - Maifest

Maifest is around the corner, but why not get the party started early? At this month's Open Haus, we will indulge in the German springtime favorite of eating Spargel (white asparagus). While the green variety is available in American supermarkets all-year round, Germans prefer the seasonal, white variety that grows only during the highly-anticipated Spargelzeit (April 22 to June 24).

Rich in nutrients and very low in calories, Spargel possesses a mild flavor that Germans simply can't resist. For the beer lovers, there will be another herald of spring:Maibock beer. Brewed in the winter and released in the spring, it is the perfect beer to transition from the richer beers of the colder months to the lighter, crisper beers of the summer.
