Have you ever experienced the grandeur of African “classical” music? Are you prepared to be captivated by the enchanting melodies, captivating rhythms, and soul-stirring harmonies of Pan-African art "classical" music? We invite you to our Summer concert, Aféfé Àjoyò (Yoruba for "wind of celebration"). This is not just another concert, but an evening to experience and immerse yourself in the distinct sound and peculiarities of African music.
Aféfé Àjoyò is more than just a title; it's a representation of the synergy between our mission and its connection to the vibrant culture of the Windy city. This is our first official concert in Chicago (and the United States), where we are bringing Pan-African art music close to you as part of our goal to promote organic diversity and showcase underrepresented composers/music in the performing arts in the Chicago area and the U.S.
